Downloading Adobe Reader
Many course materials are provided as PDF files, readable with Adobe Reader, which is available as a free download.
After reading the instructions below, use the Connection Test/Downloads tab at the top of this page to access the Adobe Web site for downloading the Adobe Reader software.
- Step 1 Verify your computer meets the Adobe Reader system requirements.
- Step 2 Test the sample PDF file.
- Step 3 Download and install Adobe Reader.
- Step 4 We provide support for unsuccessful attempts.

Sample PDF
- If you were able to open this file and read it, return to your course home page and download the PDF version of your course study guide and the General Directions and Forms. YOU ARE READY TO GO! (The length of time needed to download each file will vary, depending on your Internet connection. )
- If the file does NOT immediately open, you will probably need to download a new or updated version of the Adobe Reader.
If your operating system is older than Windows 98SE or Mac OSX, and you have an old version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, follow the Adobe prompts for updating the software, then return to this page to try the sample document. If it opens and you can read it, return to the course homepage and download your course PDFs.
If your operating system is Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Mac OSX, you will need to upgrade to the current version of the Adobe product or install the current version (if you do not already have an older version on your computer).
Return to this page, read the instructions for Step 3.
- Download and install the Adobe Reader (online, or using the CD-Rom provided): http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
- Test the Sample PDF.

- Confirm that you have followed all of the above instructions.
