Tuition and Mandatory Fees

2009-2010 Academic Year (beginning Summer 2009)

Once you are officially registered, you can view your Tuition and Fee Assessment in ISIS. 
Go to:  Student Records > Finances & Billing “Tuition and Fees”

IMPORTANT NOTE: Starting in summer 2009, The University of Iowa is implementing a new method of assessing tuition and fees for Distance Education/Extension (Web/Off-Campus, Guided Independent Study) courses.

2009-10 resident and nonresident tuition and fee rate tables that apply for enrollments described above are viewable at http://www.registrar.uiowa.edu/TuitionandFees/TuitionandFeesInformation/tabid/95/Default.aspx

 

Undergraduate nondegree (extension) students should consult Table 1; graduate nondegree (extension) students should refer to Table 9.

**Exceptions: The new method of assessing tuition and fees does not apply to:

Per-semester-hour fees for MBA-PM and CUIS courses, which are administered by the Henry B. Tippie College of Business, may be found at http://www.registrar.uiowa.edu/TuitionandFees/TuitionandFeesInformation/tabid/95/Default.aspx.

Fees

                                          $30 for Day 1 to Day 5

                                          $60 for Day 6 to Day 10

                                          $100 after Day 10

Billing

The University of Iowa no longer mails paper copies of University bills (U-bills) to students.  Instead, students receive e-mail notification when U-bills are available for review and payment online through ISIS.  E-mail notification is sent to your University e-mail address (your-name@uiowa.edu).  You are responsible for reviewing your U-bill and making sure it is paid.

 

Tuition Responsibility When You Drop or Withdraw

DROP means to terminate enrollment in one or more courses but to remain enrolled in at least one other course

WITHDRAW means to terminate enrollment in every course (even if enrolled in only one course)

Off-Cycle Courses:

Courses that meet the full session will follow the deadlines outlined above.  Courses that do NOT meet the full session are considered “off-cycle.”

Retroactive Registration

Retroactive registration (registration for course work in a given term after that term has ended) is not allowed. However, in the rare instance that academic approval is given in response to a student's appeal for retroactive registration, the University requires that all fees for that registration be paid in advance or at the time of registration processing.
