Any new or current (Distance Education) DE student who finds a “buddy” to enroll with him or her in a UI DE course.
The buddy must not have taken a UI DE course within the last two years.
Both the referring student and the buddy will receive a one-time-only $30 per semester hour scholarship for up to 3 s.h. of DE course work in the buddy’s first semester of enrollment.
Both must enroll in that semester, and remain enrolled through the last day to drop or withdraw to reduce tuition and fee assessment, to take advantage of the scholarship.
Which courses are eligible?
Any UI Distance Education (DE) course or workshop including UI course work at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.
How it Works
Both parties must register for one or more Distance Education courses.
Both the referring student and the buddy must fill out a web application form including their names, University ID numbers, and information about the University of Iowa DE course(s).
After both forms are received, eligibility is verified.
Once verified, $30 per semester house (maximum of $90) is credited to each student’s University bill. This scholarship will be posted to the student’s account after the last day to drop or withdraw to reduce tuition and fee assessment.
For Summer 2008, both web application forms must be received by June 15.
For Fall 2008, both web application forms must be received by September 15.
