Certification of Registration Information
Students new to The University, or returning after an absence, must verify the accuracy of information they provide online when requesting authorization for registration. In most instances, students accomplish this by signing a certification statement on a Student Information Form that is mailed from the Office of Admissions. Signed forms should be returned promptly.
ISIS > Student Records > Admissions Profile
Go to your Admissions Profile to check on the status of this requirement. Students who need to sign an information form will be listed as tentative in their Admissions Profile in ISIS. Once the signed form has been returned to our office we will change your status to finalized.
Confirmation of Registration
If you enrolled yourself for one or more Distance Education courses or workshops, or were enrolled by our Student Services staff, you will receive a confirmation of your registration via email shortly before the course begins.
Please review your emailed confirmation carefully and report any changes or corrections to our office. If you are unsure of the status of your registration, contact the Center for Credit Programs at 1-800-272-6430. Please be sure to notify our office promptly regarding any change in your course schedule. Failing to notify our office of such a change could result in the assessment of partial or full tuition responsibility and/or an academic penalty.
The University of Iowa reserves the right to cancel course offerings that do not meet required minimum enrollments. In most instances, notice of course cancellation will be made two weeks prior to the start of the course.
It is your responsibility to initiate a request for any change in course registration. This includes all changes, including adding or dropping a course, choice of grading options, change in course credit, and related requests. Not attending class does not constitute course withdrawal.
You can add and drop courses in ISIS until midnight the day before the semester begins (for semester-length courses) or until the day before the course start date (for off-cycle courses). If the course does not have a start date listed, it is a semester-length course. Off cycle-courses will have a start and end date listed.
LATE ADD/DROP: If you want to add or drop a course after the start of the session, please use the following forms available in ISIS.

Withdrawing Registration: Termination of enrollment in all courses for a given semester, even if you are enrolled in only one course, constitutes withdrawal of registration. You must notify our office of withdrawal in writing by one of these methods:
- Email credit-programs-register@uiowa.edu with your name, University ID number OR Hawk ID, semester of withdrawal, and mailing address or telephone number.
- Fax the above information to (319) 335-2740.
- Mail a notice to Center for Credit Programs, 250 Continuing Education Facility, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242-0907.
Postmark date or the date we receive your email or fax determines effective date of withdrawal. Refer to Significant Dates and Deadlines
for specific dates to which the rules relate.
Failure to attend courses (or participate in online courses) does not constitute withdrawal. If you fail to officially withdraw your registration, you face an academic penalty, or grade of "F", in your courses and you will be responsible for payment of tuition and fees that otherwise might be avoided.
