The University of Iowa has partnered with Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD), Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), Kirkwood Community College, and Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) to bring two blended courses each semester to their campuses starting in the Fall 2009. If you have completed an AS or AAS degree, you may earn a UI Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) degree by combining online UI course work with UI blended courses that are offered at your community college.
Students can choose from four degree tracks: General Studies, Nonprofit Management, Entrepreneurial Management, and Justice Studies (which is currently under development.) The two courses to be offered at each of the community colleges for Fall 2009 include Globalization and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Both courses are 3 semester hours in length and will count toward degree credits in the Bachelor of Liberal Studies or Bachelor of Applied Studies.
"With the four community college partnerships we have now developed, an Iowa degree is accessible to Iowans across the state," Chet Rzonca, dean of the UI Division of Continuing Education, said.
