Programs - College Credit

EARN COLLEGE CREDIT! Get a head start on college!

Institute participants can earn up to three hours of college credit!* Students can register for college credit every time they come to the National Summer Institute in Forensics.  This means a 4 year participant at Iowa can receive up to 12 hours of credit. A grade is given at the end of the institute and a transcript can be obtained through the Office of the Registrar.

Remember, the Communication Studies Department at Iowa is one of the top ranked programs in the nation! And since Iowa's tuition is the lowest in the Big 10, this college credit could be the least expensive you ever receive!

Although we cannot guarantee credit hours will transfer to other institutions of higher learning, we have not learned of any institutions rejecting the credit earned by participants. At a minimum, other institutions are applying the hours completed to the number of hours required to graduate.

*For a fee in addition to tuition, student participants may register for course 36:002 Workshop in Debate and Forensics. All registration requests must be made through the offices of the National Summer Institute in Forensics and be indicated on your application form. All fees must be paid in full prior to registration for this section. Last year the cost of the program was $725. Although tuition costs have not been set, we don't expect a significant rise in cost at this time.
