Should I bring a Computer?
A computer is not mandatory. Students have access to over 40 computers reserved for the sole use of debate participants as well as access to any of the computer clusters on Iowa's campus. Although the dorm is equiped with ethernet capabilities the ports are turned off during the summer. Some students bring computers and printers for personal work efforts, but we ensure every student has more than adequate access to computer equipment through reservation of space and time allocation to perform necessary tasks.
You can bring one and it is even encouraged to bring one so you can work in your rooms, but a computer is not necessary.
