What Provisions Are Made For Student Health?
General Health Concerns. The intensity of our schedule requires several precautions. First, students are required to be in bed by midnight. Students complete a health form as a part of the enrollment process. Health information is confidential. Transportation to and from health clinic or hospital visits is provided by UI personnel. All health care costs are the responsibility of parents or students. In the event of an emergency, care is provided by the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, which provide top-flight comprehensive care. The General Hospital is across the street from Reinow Hall (the Institute residence hall).
Medical Liaison. Mr. Kyle Vint is a full-time member of the staff who handles day-to-day student health concerns. This is Mr. Vint's third year as Medical Liaison at the Institute. Students too ill to attend class should report to the medical liaison, and the parent or guardian is contacted immediately.
