Who Sponsors The Program?

Ours is an official program of the University of Iowa. Unlike other institutes, the National Summer Institute in Forensics is an official program of the University of Iowa.  We do not rent our space.  As such, we are able to bring to bear more resources to our program and to our students than other debate institutes across the country.  This is important both for educational purposes and for emergency purposes. 

The University of Iowa has sponsored organized debate activities for more than 135 years and intercollegiate debate since 1860. We are particularly indebted to the A. Craig Baird Debate Forum, the Division of Continuing Education, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the department of Communication Studies for their support of our efforts.
