Iowa's 2008 Staff of Champions
All staff members are successful Lincoln-Douglas debaters and coaches. Only debaters or coaches of debaters who have been in late elimination rounds at national tournaments are invited to be on the Iowa staff.
Staff members have been in final rounds in tournaments such as the Glenbrooks, the Barkley Forum at Emory University, Stanford, Wake Forest, St. Mark's, Greenhill, the National Tournament of Champions, the National Forensics League National Speech and Debate Tournament, and the Catholic Forensic League National Tournament, and many others.

Cherian Koshy
Director of Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Apple Valley High School; Corporate and political consultant; National Forensic League; Joy of Tournaments; three-time Iowa participant; Iowa instructor for eight years.
Jessica Bailey
Director of Forensics at Edina High School; M.A. UNC-Chapel Hill, Philosophy; B.A. University of Minnesota.
Stephanie Bell
University of Chicago; two-time Iowa state champion; runner up at MBA Round Robin; octafinalist at the TOC; qualified to the TOC three times; currently an assistant coach at Valley High School.
Tim Case
Director of Forensics at Presentation High School, San Jose, CA; NFL National Champion in LD and a two-time NCFL National Champion Coach; has coached champions of every major tournament.
Susan Morrow
Sophomore, Yale University; first LDer from New Mexico to qualify to the TOC since 1992; quarterfinalist and 5th speaker at Iowa Round Robin; cleared at every national tournament she attended.
Dan Meyers
Director of LD Debate at The Meadows School in Las Vegas; Policy and LD coach of TOC and NFL National qualifiers and competitors in outrounds at the TOC in LD.
J.J. Rodriguez
Coach San Marino High School, CA, and Director of Debate Loyola Marymount, CA; 2nd World's Parliamentary Debate Tournament; students placing in the Top Ten at NFL Nationals.
Johanna Tyler
Sophomore, U.T. at Austin; Graduate of Crowley High School, Texas. Until her junior year, Johanna debated largely on the highly competitive Dallas circuit and won many local tournaments. As a senior, she made the transition to successful competition on a national level. She debated the bid round or better at the St. Mark's Heart of Texas Invitational, the Barkley Forum for High Schools (Emory), and the California Invitational (Berkeley), and won speaker awards at a number of tournaments, including the Minneapple, the Stanford National Invitational, and the Grapevine Classic. Johanna debated outrounds at every national tournament she attended including: The Victory Briefs, University of Texas, Colleyville Heritage and Houston-Memorial Endgame Tournament. During this time, Johanna also continued to compete actively in the Dallas area, winning the Coppell Cowboy Classic and debating finals at the Hockaday Tournament. She participated in the Dallas Debate Round Robin and the Lonestar Women's Round Robin and Voices Foundation Round Robin in March. She was the first girl (second person) to attend the TOC from Crowley High School.
