General Fees

Please read the following information carefully, and call us if you have any questions. Our number is 319-335-4160.

All workshops are noncredit.

General Fees:
A NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED FOR EACH COURSE FOR WHICH YOU REGISTER.

Weekend sessions: $250 payment in full when you register. $100 of your payment is a nonrefundable deposit.

Week-long session discounted rate: $500 if paid in full when you register. $200 of your payment is a nonrefundable deposit.

Week-long session installment plan: $525 if you pay in two installments, $200 nonrefundable deposit when you register and the remaining $325 at least one week in advance of your workshop. A schedule for payments due on the installment plan appears below.

Housing and most meal costs are NOT included in this fee. (Note: all fees listed are in U.S. dollars.) Fees for each one-week workshop include a variety of special events, including a light dinner on the Sunday evening of registration, the Monday reception, and the farewell dinner on Friday. The weekend fee includes a Saturday morning continental breakfast. No other meals are included. There may be additional, nominal costs for outings, copying, or books, etc., for your particular workshop.

You may enroll in only one workshop per session, but you may register for as many sessions as you like. Workshops are limited to 12 people each, so register early.

Auditors or other nonparticipating visitors are disruptive to workshop and will not be allowed.

The Iowa Summer Writing Festival reserves the right to a) revoke the registration of or b) dismiss from the Festival any person who threatens or disrupts the learning environment of others or the atmosphere of cooperation and respect that defines the Festival community.

HOW TO REGISTER

You may register by mail, phone or FAX. Payment must accompany registration.

If you register by telephone or FAX you must use a credit card.

If you register by mail you may use check, money order, or credit card. We accept only MasterCard or VISA.

Fill out the form, indicating your choice of workshop and method of payment.

All registrations will be taken in the order in which they are received. We will promptly notify you if the class you have selected is full and help you make another selection. If you have a second choice that you wish to indicate, that would be helpful. If the workshop of your choice is full at the time you register, and you do not wish to enroll in a second choice, we will refund your entire payment. We will honor your choices according to availability.

REFUNDS
If you must cancel your registration, and the cancellation is at least one week prior to the beginning of that session, we will refund your payment minus your deposit. You will forfeit your deposit for each session for which you are registered and cancel. If you must cancel within the one-week period before a session for any reason, you will forfeit your entire payment. A schedule for refunds (minus nonrefundable deposits) is listed below.

Note: There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.

SCHEDULE FOR REFUNDS (MINUS DEPOSIT) AND PAYMENTS DUE ON INSTALLMENT PLAN

TRANSFER FEE
If you wish to transfer to another class after you have already registered, there will be a processing charge of $50 for each transfer.

IF WE CANCEL A WORKSHOP
In the event that we must cancel a workshop and you do not wish to choose another workshop, you will receive a refund of your entire payment.
