ACCOMMODATIONS
The following facilities offer special rates to Festival participants. To receive these rates, you must mention that you are participating in the Festival when making your reservations.

SHERATON IOWA CITY HOTEL
Air-conditioned rooms with private baths have been reserved at the Sheraton Hotel, located in downtown Iowa City approximately three blocks uphill from the classrooms. The Sheraton provides complimentary shuttle service in and around the Iowa City/Coralville area. Rates are $90 plus tax per night. Free parking is available in the nearby city ramp for guests of the Sheraton. Fees are payable to the Sheraton upon departure. You may make your reservations by calling 319-337-4058 or 800-848-1335 or on line at www.starwoodmeeting.com/book/summer08 for June sessions, www.starwoodmeeting.com/book/july08 for July sessions. This block of rooms will be held for us until three weeks before the beginning of each session. Please indicate that you are participating in the Iowa Summer Writing Festival when making your reservations.

IOWA HOUSE
Air-conditioned rooms with private baths have been reserved at the Iowa House, a hotel located on campus in the Iowa Memorial Union, about one block from the classrooms. Rates are $85 plus tax per night for one to three nights, $74 plus tax per night for four nights or more. Complimentary breakfast is included. Some rooms have a microwave oven and refrigerator; others have an Ethernet connection. Please note that cafeterias in the Iowa Memorial Union are closed evenings and weekends in summer. If you reserve at the Iowa House, plan to go downtown (about four blocks uphill) for meals. Free parking is available in the Iowa Memorial Union ramp for guests of the Iowa House. Fees are payable to the Iowa House upon departure. You may make your reservations by calling 319-335-3513. This block of rooms will be held for us until three weeks before the beginning of each session. Please indicate that you are participating in the Iowa Summer Writing Festival when making your reservations.

HEARTLAND INN
Air-conditioned rooms with private baths have been reserved at the Heartland Inn, located in Coralville about two miles from downtown Iowa City. Rooms include a microwave oven and refrigerator. Enjoy complimentary breakfast & evening snacks, an indoor pool, wireless Internet access, and daily passes to Gold’s gym. Rates are $65.99 per night plus tax, payable to the Heartland upon departure. Parking is free. The city bus stops just across the street from the hotel. In addition, the Heartland provides limited shuttle service to campus at scheduled times. You may make your reservation by calling 1-800-334-3277 (enter property code #19) or 319-351-8132. This block of rooms will be held for us until one week before the beginning of each session. Mention VIP code ISWF, or indicate that you are participating in the Iowa Summer Writing Festival when making your reservations.

PLEASE NOTE:
There may be some weeks in which choice of housing is limited. We recommend that you make your reservations early. Facilities may not be able to honor requests for early arrivals and extra-day stayovers.
