Summer in Iowa City

There are many opportunities to meet and get to know members of other workshops and to enjoy the energy and ambiance of summer in Iowa City. Festival writers may come together in the mornings for coffee, breakfast, and conversation. Social gatherings are planned throughout the week, and there is time to explore the bookstores and local literary haunts, to walk along the Iowa River, and to enjoy concerts, plays, and the museums on campus. Readings by outstanding contemporary voices, hosted by a local bookstore, are always a favorite among Festival participants.
