The John and Mary Pappajohn Education Center (JMPEC), a part of the University of Iowa's Division of Continuing Education, is designed to provide a wide range of adult learning needs, as well as give students in central Iowa access to a number of University of Iowa undergraduate and graduate degree programs and courses.

The Hawkeye Lunch and Learn series offers monthly events in Des Moines designed to connect Iowa communities, university faculty, and government and industry leaders. The UI Office of the Provost sponsors the series.

When Theory Meets Practice: Women's Studies Students Working with Women on the Inside
Presented by Rachel Marie-Crane Williams, Ph.D.
Associate Professor Rachel Williams will share her experience working in women's prisons as a teacher, researcher and artist. Her talk will focus on bringing students into the women's prison in Iowa to facilitate classes about healthy relationships. Each semester 75 women from ICIW and 13 students from The University of Iowa participate. She will share the development of this program, challenges, successes, and outcomes.
