Workers' Compensation...................April 17-19

An in-depth review of Iowa's workers' compensation system, workers' compensation developments and trends, and strategies for unions to use in advocating for the injured worker. This year's school will also look at return to work problems facing injured workers. (Iowa City) MORE INFO

Building Local Union Membership & Participation..
May 11-12

Developing a local union plan for member recruitment and internal organizing, mobilizing members around workplace issues, new member education and one-on-one and other communication techniques for building a stronger local union. (Iowa City)

Labor Short Course..............................June 5-9

The Labor Center's longest running course - a week of classes designed to inspire and educate new union activists and reinvigorate the experienced union leader. The 2006 Labor Short Course will include sessions on building stronger unions, labor/employment law, labor history, public policy, human rights issues and political action. Registration

The Labor Center offers a variety of on-campus programs for union members throughout the year. Register one of three ways:

Make checks payable to the University of Iowa. A confirmation letter and program agenda will be sent to each registrant. Cost of the conference does NOT include meals or motel accommodations unless otherwise indicated.
