Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO
The Iowa Federation of Labor co-sponsors many of the Labor Center's on-campus and Central Labor Council education programs, and provides funding for a graduate research assistantship at the Labor Center each year.
United Association for Labor Education (UALE)
The Labor Center is a member of the UALE, an organization of university, union, and community-based labor educators.
Midwest School for Women Workers
Leadership school designed for women union members held each summer by different university-based labor education programs, including the Labor Center.
University of Iowa Center for Human Rights (UICHR)
The Labor Center often collaborates on projects with the UI Center for Human Rights, such as the Child Labor Public Education Project.
Midwest Coalition for Human Rights (MCHR)
The Labor Center is a member of MCHR, a regional network of nonprofit and university-based organizations collaborating to promote and protect human rights.
Child Labor Public Education Project
From 2002-2004, the Labor Center designed and conducted a series of public education workshops on the problem of global child labor under a contract with the U.S. Department of Labor. Information and resources related to this project (including free workshop materials—handouts, slides, instructors’ guides, etc.) are available online.
Iowa Labor History Collection and Iowa Labor History Oral Project
The Iowa Labor History Oral Project was initiated in 1974 by the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. In cooperation with the State Historical Society of Iowa, the Iowa Federation of Labor has funded the collection and transcription of over 1,100 oral history interviews with Iowa trade unionists. Oral history interviews are indexed online by name, union, and town (a fuller printed subject index is also available upon request). The State Historical Society continues to cultivate an expansive collection of Iowa labor records and newsletters; finding aids to portions of these archives are also available online.

National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
Enforces the National Labor Relations Act (labor law covering many private sector workers and unions).
Iowa Public Employment Relations Board (PERB)
Enforces the Iowa Public Employee Relations Act (labor law covering Iowa public sector workers and unions).
Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA)
Enforces the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute (labor law covering most federal government workers and unions).
Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Enforcement (IOSHA)
U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division
Enforces the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): child labor, minimum wage, and overtime; and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Enforces anti-discrimination laws prohibiting employment discrimination, including the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (discrimination based on race, color, sex, national origin, or religion).
Iowa Civil Rights Commission
Enforces the Iowa Civil Rights Act, prohibiting employment discrimination based on race, color, creed, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, physical disability, mental disability, or age.
Iowa Division of Workers' Compensation
Enforces the Iowa Workers' Compensation Act.
Iowa Unemployment Insurance Services Division
Enforces Iowa Unemployment Compensation law.
International Labour Organization
Draws up and oversees international labor standards and conventions.
