Pammel Laboratory
Pammel Laboratory and classroom is named after L. H. Pammel, a botanist with a special interest in aquatic plants.
As you walk between Pammel and Shimek, notice the restored prairie to the east. Dr. Daryl Smith, of the University of Northern Iowa, and his prairie ecology class salvaged this prairie from a future highway near Armstrong, Iowa. This is one of the most successful prairie restorations at Lakeside.
