3rd Annual Peoples Art Project

Planning is underway for the third annual Peoples Art Project during the Okoboji Winter Games. In 2009, participants formed a giant dragonfly on the ice in front of the Dining Hall (see photo at right).

The Peoples Art Project is a collaboration among Lakeside Lab, ArtsLIVE, and the Friends of Lakeside Lab. It uses people as a medium to create a giant work of art on the lake ice on Little Miller’s Bay on West Okoboji. A plane then flies over and takes a picture. The purpose is to provide some fun outdoors while reminding us of nature’s message that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.
