What to Bring

Clothing is informal, but should include long- and short-sleeved shirts and long pants suitable for fieldwork. Hiking boots, work boots, or good athletic shoes that provide support are also needed because all courses involve considerable fieldwork. During the summer, it is advisable to bring rain gear and a warm, hooded jacket. During the winter, clothes, gloves, head gear, and snow boots suitable for work outdoors at sub-freezing temperatures are essential.

If taking courses involving aquatic field trips, hip boots or chest waders are recommended. Please read course descriptions carefully for other materials or supplies needed in your course.

Students lodging at Lakeside should bring bed linens and a blanket (or sleeping bag) and towels.
