Lakeside Laboratory offers university courses in the summer, year-round non-credit programs for children and adults, and a rich, diverse setting of wetlands, prairies, lakes and forests for researchers to study and visitors to enjoy.

Water Quality

Lakeside is pleased to announce a new partnership that will greatly expand water testing here. For more information, click here.

The Friends of Lakeside Lab support an active program of water quality monitoring. Data is collected annually by volunteers through the Cooperative Lakes Area Monitoring Project (CLAMP).  See the following links for more information.

What's New at Lakeside?

Friends of Lakeside Lab

The Friends of Lakeside Lab are in the midst of a $2,000,000 endowment campaign. The income from this endowment will be used to fund environmental education programs and water quality research. More than $1.4 million has been raised to date.

In 2008, the Friends will again offer a 12 week, part-time summer environmental education position at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.

 

New Scholarships Announced

Lakeside alum G. Dennis Cooke has established a scholarship to support research in aquatic ecology by graduate students at Lakeside.  For more information, please click here.

The Friends of Lakeside Lab have established a scholarship in honor of Dr. Jane Goodall, who spoke at the Lab in October, 2007.  For more information, please click here.
