Public and K-12 Programs
As a Regents Resource Center, Iowa Lakeside Lab offers education and enrichment for people of all ages. Many of Lakeside's programs are sponsored by the Friends of Lakeside Lab, our non-profit support group. Following are some of the opportunities for 2008:
Master Conservationist Program
Saturday mornings from March 29 through May 31 (no class April 26 or May 24)
In partnership with the Iowa State University Cooperative Extension Service and Dickinson County Nature Center, Lakeside is offering this program for the first time in Dickinson County. Participants will receive training in a variety of conservation disciplines and then perform related volunteer work. The cost is $75 per person.

Tuesday mornings, beginning in April
Join this informal group of volunteers as they perform stewardship work on Lakeside's grounds and natural areas. Learn about native plants, natural history, and gardening while you work, then relax over coffee on the Waitt Lab porch. Volunteer Opportunities
Water Quality: The Cooperative Lakes Area Monitoring Project is looking for volunteers to help monitor the health of our lakes. Free training and equipment provided.
Butterfly Research: Learn how to rear butterflies and participate in research. Training required.
