Lab Use Fees

To cover facility maintenance and other expenses, Lakeside charges guests for their lodging and meals. Students taking courses and long-term researchers during the summer session qualify for a reduced weekly room and board rate.

Community groups are welcome to use Lakeside's facilities on a space-available basis.  Please see under Group Rates for Building Use, below.

 

Summer Session Room and Board Weekly Rates for Students and Researchers

Room without bathroom Meals included	$195 per week
Room with bathroom (double occupancy) Meals included	$247 per week
Room with bathroom (single occupancy) Meals included	$379 per week

Room and board fees are due the day of arrival, unless other arrangements are made in advance.

Researchers who stay less than one week will be charged the daily room and meal rates.

 

Lodging and Food Daily Rates for visitors

Overnight guests of students and faculty and other visitors are welcome if lodging is available. Please contact the Business Manager to make arrangements. Daily rates for lodging are applicable all year.

Please note: meals are served in the Mess Hall during the summer session only.

*Child is over 2 and less than 13 years of age. Children less than 2 years old are free.

 

Group Rates for Building Use

Community organizations are welcome to use Lakeside for retreats, meetings, and small conferences. Please contact the Business Manager to check on the availability of facilities and schedule their use. 

Fees for using the teaching laboratories, classrooms in the Waitt Water Quality Laboratory, the Library, Mahan Hall, and other facilities are $17 per building per hour (maximum of $68 per day) plus the actual cost of any special sets ups and for cleaning up afterward, if necessary.

The Mess Hall normally serves meals only during the summer session. Catered meals, however, can be arranged for groups meeting at Lakeside, and the Mess Hall can be rented for meal services. Daily rental of the Mess Hall is $69 per day plus the actual cost for any special set ups and for cleaning up afterwards, if necessary. Contact the Business Manager for specifics.

Sorry, but Lakeside's facilities are not available for weddings and private parties.

 

Shuttle Service Rates

To or from Sioux Falls Airport: $110.00

If more than one passenger is transported, the fare will be divided among all passengers.  Students arriving for courses are encouraged to contact the Business Manager as soon as you make your plane ticket reservations, preferably 3 to 4 weeks before the class begins.
