Registration

Registration is up and running!

If you would like to register for summer classes at Lakeside, you may use the online form.

Or, register by phone at 1-888-469-2338 (toll free).

The Lakeside Administrative Office will register you and will reserve housing for you if you requested it. There is a $40, non-refundable application fee that must be received by the Lakeside Administrative Office before a Registration/Housing request will be processed.   (Note: It is not possible to register for Internship, Independent Study, and Research courses using the on-line form. Please contact the Executive Director to make arrangements.)

Early registration is encouraged because Lakeside classes are small and can fill quickly. Housing is limited, and the Housing section of the Registration/Housing Form must be completed even if you do not plan to live on campus.

Students who wish to apply for an Iowa Lakeside Laboratory Scholarship should fill in the scholarship section of the Registration/Housing Form. For scholarship applications, completed registrations, essays, and transcripts must be mailed by April 15, 2008. See section on Scholarships for details.

All students will be registered for Iowa Lakeside Laboratory courses through The University of Iowa. University of Iowa tuition rates will apply, and tuition will be billed by the UI Billing Office. Through a Regents’ Universities consortium agreement, students at Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa will receive residence credit for Lakeside courses and the ISU or UNI course number(s) will be entered on students’ permanent records along with course grades at the end of the summer.

If you are a student at ISU or UNI and will apply for financial aid for Summer 2008 through your home institution, please so indicate on the registration form. Once you are registered the Lakeside Administrative Office will verify your enrollment and cost of attendance to your home institution’s Financial Aid Office. Please check with your Financial Aid Office in advance of registration to be sure that your planned course schedule meets the guidelines for summer financial aid.

Students should check with their academic adviser to determine if a specific Lakeside course can be used to satisfy a major, minor, college, or university requirement. Whether a particular course can be used to meet major, minor, college, or university requirements varies from university to university and even within colleges and departments at a given university.

Application fees and materials should be sent to:
