Tuition and Fees
Tuition for Lakeside courses is charged per credit, and the per credit rate is the same as for summer courses at the University of Iowa. Because Lakeside is an off-campus program, only resident tuition fees are charged, even for out-of-state students at the regents’ universities. Tuition for Summer 2008 is $232 per credit hour for undergraduate students or $361 per credit hour for graduate students. Mandatory student fees are waived for Lakeside courses. All courses and workshops may be audited (taken on a non-credit basis). The fee for auditing a course is the same as the tuition charge for credit registration.
Students will be billed directly for tuition by the University of Iowa. Information on when summer tuition and fees are due and how they can be paid can be found at www.uiowa.edu/ubill/.
A number of Lakeside courses go on extended field trips. Such trips are noted in the course descriptions. There is a field trip fee in these courses that is used to offset the cost of travel and other expenses. This fee, which depends on the length of the trip, will be collected at Lakeside Laboratory.
Each student is required to pay in full their room and board charges plus any field trip fee or laboratory fee at the time they check in at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory. For information on room and board fees, click here.
