Child Labor Public Education Project
From 2002-2004, the Labor Center designed and conducted a series of public education workshops on the problem of global child labor under a contract with the U.S. Department of Labor. Information and resources related to this project (including free workshop materials—handouts, slides, instructors’ guides, etc.) are available online.

Iowa Labor History Collection and Iowa Labor History Oral Project
The Iowa Labor History Oral Project was initiated in 1974 by the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. In cooperation with the State Historical Society of Iowa, the Iowa Federation of Labor has funded the collection and transcription of over 1,100 oral history interviews with Iowa trade unionists. Oral history interviews are indexed online by name, union, and town (a fuller printed subject index is also available upon request). The State Historical Society continues to cultivate an expansive collection of Iowa labor records and newsletters; finding aids to portions of these archives are also available online.

Iowa State Labor Press Association
The Iowa State Labor Press Association (ISLPA) was created in the 1980s to bring together union newsletter editors from across the state, promote the craft of newsletter writing and editing, and provide opportunities for sharing, networking and conferencing. The ISLPA is supported by the Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, and other unions in Iowa, and collaborates with the Labor Center to sponsor regular education conferences for union newsletter editors.
