The Iowa Lakeside Lab’s Artist-in-Residence Program offers artists, musicians, and creative makers from all genres an opportunity to spend time in residence within our biological field station and nature preserve along the shores of Iowa’s northwest lakes.

The residency program was created in order to support artists and scientists in unique collaborations that reflect new thinking on environmental concerns. Artists spend two to four weeks in residence working on their own creative projects, with full access to the field station’s scientists and diverse ecological community. The program is linked with Long Term Ecological Reflections (LTER), a national program of arts-science partnerships of which Lakeside Lab is a part.

Our artists come from all backgrounds, all career stages, and all disciplines. We welcome and support unique, creative ways of interpreting the role of art, ecology, and science.

The application for the Artist-in-Residence program is open January 1 through March 1. Apply online at: http://lakesidelabair.org/apply/
